Short version: your resume never leaves your browser, and there is no account to create.
Your documents
Resumes you write, and files you check, are processed entirely in the tab you have open. They are stored in your browser’s IndexedDB, on your own machine. No copy is sent to ATS Resume Reader or to anyone else, and there is no server that could receive one.
When you check a file, what is kept is the text the reader recovered from it and the facts about the file, not the file itself. The last twelve are kept so you can reopen a report and compare it with the one before it; older ones are dropped as new ones arrive. Each is listed on the checker page with a cross beside it that deletes it immediately.
What this means for you
- Clearing your browser data deletes your resumes permanently. We cannot restore them, because we never had them.
- Your documents do not follow you to another browser or device. Export the JSON file and open it elsewhere.
- Nobody at ATS Resume Reader can read your employment history, and no subpoena or breach can expose it from our side.
Accounts
There are none. We do not ask for an email address, a name, or a payment method, so there is no account database to hold anything about you.
Analytics
The written pages, this one among them, run Microsoft Clarity, which records how a page is used so we can find what does not work. Microsoft holds what it collects. Clarity is told to share nothing with Microsoft Ads, and the image it would use to sync Microsoft’s advertising ID is blocked on every page.
It never runs on the editor or the checker, and both are marked so their contents are never uploaded even if you arrive from a page where it is running. No resume reaches Microsoft.
Hosting
The site is a set of static files served by a hosting provider. Like any web host, it records standard request logs: IP address, time, and which file was requested. That is a property of the internet, not something the app collects or has access to.
Cookies
On those pages Clarity sets two on this site: _clck, a random identifier kept for a year, and _clsk, which joins the pages of one visit and lasts a day. Loading its script also sets one on Microsoft’s own domain, CLID, which Microsoft says records the first time Clarity saw your browser on any site that uses it.
Microsoft says that in the UK, the EU and Switzerland, Clarity sets no cookies until a visitor consents. This site never asks, so there it runs without them. The editor and the checker set none for anybody.
Your documents are kept in browser storage, which is not a cookie and never leaves this browser.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects what leaves your browser will be stated plainly rather than folded into a paragraph.
